Non-coal rare earth elements/critical minerals project lead

The Strategic Materials and Recovery Technologies (SMaRT) Center was recently established with the purpose to enhance the university’s position as a center of excellence for critical materials extraction and purification through metal production. As the project lead for non-coal based rare earth elements and critical minerals, my responsibility is to build a research team at the University of Kentucky, and to develop research proposals in this area.
